A commercial success – Heesen’s new, impressive 50m superyacht
Maria Korotaeva wrote the following for Charterworld:
Heesen are proud to announce the sale of its fifth superyacht in 2017. This brings the total linear length of vessels sold this year to 257 metres.
This stylish motor yacht made from aluminium, was built on the design and engineering platform of Nova Plus. The Project Boreas provides efficient and fast performance due to its fast displacement hull form. With a draft of 2.15m the Project Boreas has a beautiful contemporary exterior designed by the renowned Omega Architects.
The sailing yacht owner client was attracted by the efficiency, seakeeping and versatility of the fast displacement hull form. He approached the shipyard personally and worked with the engineers to customise his new superyacht which was one year into construction.

Due to his sailing experience, the client was able to add his own personal touch into each area of the new vessel.
Project Boreas is a wonderful example of how a client is able to customise the pre-engineered design platform of a hull that is already being built. This actually helps to shorten the delivery time too. After extensive sea trials in the North Sea the impressive yacht is expected to be delivered in July 2019.
