Heesen completes 50m motor yacht Masa

Charl van Rooy wrote the following for Superyachttimes yesterday:

Last week, Heesen Yachts officially completed its new 50-metre motor yacht Masa, the eighth unit in the growing 5000 Aluminium Class by the Dutch yard.

Meaning ‘my diamond’, motor yacht Masa is designed with a fresh and elegant atmosphere with bright interior decor that uses a light colour palette with matching silver accents around the yacht as created by designer Cristiano Gatto. A versatile layout places the master suite on the main deck forward and the five remaining guest staterooms on the lower deck, providing accommodation for up to 12 overnight guests.

The project’s exterior is by long-time Heesen design partner Omega Architects and Frank Laupman who designed the semi-displacement yacht to match Masa’s sisterships in the range with a recognisable ‘pelican-beak’ bow with reverse sheer and dynamic swooping lines as part of the superstructure.

During its sea trial phase, Masa exceeded her contractual top speed of 23 knots on a moderate North Sea.
